Anzio, 7 marzo 2020 - Il momento del presente

Il 7 marzo 2020 ho deciso che avrei realizzato questo lavoro.

Un giorno che per me, rappresenta lo spartiacque tra la  "vita prima del Covid" e la "vita dopo il Covid". 

Quale migliore occasione per realizzare una collana speciale, se non la mia terza partecipazione al concorso internazionale The Battle of the Beadsmith?

La regola vuole che tutte le partecipanti inizino a ricamare la seconda settimana di agosto e così, per paura di perdere il sacro fuoco dell'ispirazione, una volta tornata a casa, avevo preso i seguenti appunti:

Anzio 7 Marzo 2020.

Da circa 15 giorni la popolazione mondiale sta vivendo momenti difficili.  Il corona virus sta sconvolgendo il pianeta. 

La scuola è chiusa da 2 giorni. Lì abbiamo lasciato gran parte del materiale scolastico. 

Oggi ci è ancora consentito uscire per stare all'aria aperta. Non c'è  l'obbligo di indossare la mascherina all'aperto, riesco quindi a scorgere qualche sorriso.

Ho deciso di portare i bambini al mare nonostante il freddo e la pioggia.

Non posso  immaginare che stiamo per restare a casa 90 lunghissimi giorni.

Non posso immaginare che quello che sto mangiando è il mio  ultimo gelato preso a Baia di Ponente.

Con i passanti ci scambiamo sguardi surreali pieni di solidarietà.

I miei figli giocano a pallone. Io mi sono buttata più volte nel mare gelido con tutte le scarpe, pur di recuperare la palla che finisce sempre lì. 

 

Raccolgo conchiglie. 

Nessuno ha il cellulare in mano. Tutti stanno vivendo il momento del presente.

All'improvviso qualcosa alla riva cattura la mia attenzione. E' un granchio molto robusto dal colore bruno rossiccio.

Cammina  lateralmente su dei legnetti, muovendo le zampe distintamente. A volte si ferma, sembra osservarmi per valutare un eventuale pericolo. 

Si bagna con la schiuma del mare e si mimetizza nella sabbia. 

Poi viene inghiottito dall'acqua ma in un secondo riemerge. 

Cammina ancora, si sposta lateralmente, mi osserva, scompare e riappare.

Lo seguo in tutti i suoi spostamenti e mi accorgo di essermi allontanata troppo dai bambini che comunque vedo ancora giocare a pallone tranquilli e sereni. 

Decido quindi che è ora di salutare il mio bellissimo granchio. 

Ma proprio nel momento in cui gli prometto che sarei tornata il giorno seguente, lui scava una buca nella sabbia e scompare.

Respiro profondamente ogni singolo istante. 

Non vedrò più il mare per 90 giorni.

Amore: infinito in ogni singolo punto.

On 7th march  2020 I decided that I would make this work.

A day that  represents to me,  the watershed between "life before Covid" and "life after Covid".

Once back home that day, I took the following notes to keep insipiration until starting my piece on august:

Anzio 7th March 2020.

For about 15 days, the world population has been experiencing difficult times. Corona virus is shaking the planet.

The school has been closed for 2 days. 

Today we are still allowed to go outside. There is no obligation to wear  mask outdoors, so I can see someone smiles.

I decided to take children to the sea despite the cold and rain.

I can't imagine we're going to stay at home for 90 days.

I can't imagine that what I'm eating is my last ice cream in Baia di Ponente.

With passers-by we exchange surreal glances full of solidarity.

My children play football.  I threw myself several times into the icy sea with all my shoes, just to recover the ball that always ends there.

 

I collect shells.

Nobody has a cell phone in their hand. Everyone is experiencing the moment of the present.

Suddenly something on the shore catches my attention. It is a very robust crab with a reddish brown color.

Walk sideways on sticks, moving your legs distinctly. Sometimes he stops, he  seems to observe me to assess a possible danger.

It bathes in the sea foam and camouflages itself in the sand.

Then it is swallowed by the water but in a second he re-surfaces.

He walks again, moves sideways, observes me, disappears and reappears.

I follow him in all his movements and I realize that I have strayed too far from the children who, however, are still see playing football happily.

So I decide it's time to say goodbye to my beautiful crab.

But just as I promise him I'll be back tomorrow, he digs a hole in the sand and disappears.

I breathe deeply every single moment.

I will not see the sea again for 90 days.
